The Central Minnesota Woodworker's Association is a group of men and women from around the St. Cloud Minnesota area who share a common interest in the art and business of woodworking. Paramount Visual Arts Center Exhibition

We are excited to invite your participation in the Artists of the Paramount exhibition in Studio C, which will be our featured exhibition for the June 12 th Art Crawl!

This exhibit will showcase the talents of our students, instructors, club members, staff and volunteers and is open to all art mediums.

Here are the details you need to know:

Exhibition: Artists of the Paramount
Dates: June 12-26
Entry Fee: Free
Drop Off: June 8, 10am-4pm or June 9, 10am-8pm
*Please deliver to Derick or Melissa’s Office
Reception: June 12, 5-9pm during the Art Crawl
Pick-Up: June 29, 10am-4pm or June 30, 10am-8pm

Each artist is welcome to submit one or two pieces
Size Limits: Not larger than 3 feet in an direction or to exceed 100lbs

All work must be clearly labeled on the back/bottom of the work indicating:
Artist Name
Title of Piece
Price (or Not For Sale)

There will be a 30% commission retained by the Paramount for any sales.

May CMWA Meeting

Mike Siemsen is our guest presenter at our May meeting. Mike is a professional furniture builder. He will demonstrate crafting wood mouldings by hand using "hollows and rounds", hand moulding planes. Mike is a member of SAPFM, the Society of American Period Furniture Makers and owns Green Lake Clock co. and Mike Siemsens School of Woodworking. Mike's shop is located near Chisago City, MN. You don't want to miss this presentation.

April CMWA Meeting

Our activity for the April meeting will be on the "Art of Intarsia". Bill Sampson will present the technique of producing this art in wood. Bill has demonstrated great scroll saw skills and is willing to share his talent with our members. Thank you Bill!

CMWA February Meeting

To avoid a conflict with Ash Wednesday, we will have our February membership meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 25th 7:00 pm at the Paramount.

Our presentation will be, "Setting up and tuning your bandsaw" by the guy who wrote the book! Rollie Johnson.

January CMWA Meeting

At the January meeting we'll be holding elections and reviewing the past year. Please bring items for show and tell, and your favorite shop made jig!

December CMWA Meeting

The Holiday gathering will be in place of our December meeting. Many members have volunteered to bring treats from pulled pork to cakes, salads, cookies etc. If you wish, members are welcome to bring any of their favorite goodies to share. All spouses are welcome!

We will also have a Silent Auction. We are featuring, for sale, the two Shaker tables that were built for the Art Crawl. These would be great Christmas gifts!

We also welcome any other items to add to the auction. These may be old tools that are no longer used laying around the shop, to handmade holiday decorations etc. All proceeds are to benefit the CMWA. Please bring these items before 6:45 so that we can prepare the auction bills before the party.

We will have a very short meeting starting at 7:00 and move on to socializing for the rest of the evening.

November CMWA Meeting

The activity for our November meeting is "Jointer Setup" presented by Rollie Johnson.

October CMWA Meeting

Our presentation for our next meeting will address "Harmful Dust" a great follow-up to our dust collection presentation in September. Rich Blenkush will lead this discussion. Rich was the industrial arts instructor at Albany High School for several years.
