Thank you Charlie Gunderson, for building and donating a beautiful walnut flag case to the Cy and Joan Valerius family. It was presented to Joan in mid July. As you would expect it was a very emotional event for us, Joan was very grateful.
The next CMWA meeting is Wednesday, August 19th, 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Paramount, lower level. Antique woodworking tools will be the focus. Jim Preusser is a collector and expert on woodworking antiques. He will share some of his vast collection of tools and knowledge. Members are invited to bring their antique tools for evaluation by Jim.
Our summer picnic will take the place of our July meeting.
The picnic will take place at Devin Middendorf's shop located at the Middendorf family farm, Wednesday, July 15th at 6:30 pm.
Devin will show us how he cuts the parts for the libraries.
There will be plenty of food, we will be grilling burgers and brat's with all the trimmings, as members have volunteered to bring salads, chips, beans and deserts. All the meats, plates and utensils etc. are being furnished by the CMWA. Please bring your appetite and a chair!
For those members who may want to take advantage of carpooling, meet at approx. 5:15 at the Mills Fleet Farm parking lot near the large Mills sign on county road 75, (Division Street) in Waite Park. The group will leave about 5:30 pm.
Shawn will be doing a presentation of the libraries at our June meeting. Roland Johnson is always working on or testing some exciting new product or tool. At our June meeting he will tell us about quick change router chucks.
Our next Art Crawl is Friday, June 12th 5:00 to 9:00 pm at the Paramount. Shawn, John and Devin have been busy folks and have assembled four "Little Libraries" and will be showing and selling them at the Art Crawl. Thank you for your good work! Any members who would like to help at Art Crawls are welcome.
We are excited to invite your participation in the Artists of the Paramount exhibition in Studio C, which will be our featured exhibition for the June 12 th Art Crawl!
This exhibit will showcase the talents of our students, instructors, club members, staff and volunteers and is open to all art mediums.

Mike Siemsen is our guest presenter at our May meeting. Mike is a professional furniture builder. He will demonstrate crafting wood mouldings by hand using "hollows and rounds", hand moulding planes. Mike is a member of SAPFM, the Society of American Period Furniture Makers and owns Green Lake Clock co. and Mike Siemsens School of Woodworking. www.schoolofwood.com Mike's shop is located near Chisago City, MN. Our activity for the April meeting will be on the "Art of Intarsia". Bill Sampson will present the technique of producing this art in wood. Bill has demonstrated great scroll saw skills and is willing to share his talent with our members. Thank you Bill!
